Satrogyl O Tablet

Satrogyl O Tablet 10’s belongs to the class of ‘antibiotics’, primarily used to treat diarrhoea and dysentery. It helps treat various mixed infections, including intra-abdominal infection, gynaecological and pelvic infections, foot ulcers in diabetes, post-operative infections, dental infections, and infections in immunocompromised patients.

Additionally,Tablet 10’s is also used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, urinary tract (bladder and kidneys), male and female genital organs.

Diarrhoea is a condition that causes the frequent passing of loose or watery stools. Dysentery is an intestinal inflammation that leads to severe diarrhoea accompanied by mucus or blood in the stools. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body.

Satrogyl O Tablet 10’s contains two antibiotic medicines, namely: Ofloxacin and Satranidazole. Ofloxacin belongs to a class of drugs called quinolone antibiotics. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme required to replicate, transcription, and repair the DNA.

Ofloxacin is also used to treat pelvic inflammatory disease, gonorrhoea, and Chlamydia (sexually transmitted infections caused by bacteria). Satranidazole is an anti-amoebic, antiprotozoal, and anti-bacterial medicine that treats various infections caused by bacteria and parasites (amoeba).

It is bactericidal and kills harmful bacteria and parasites (amoeba) by damaging its DNA. It prevents the division of bacterial cells and inhibits the repairing of bacterial cells.

Tablet 10’s is available in the form of tablet and syrup. Please take Tablet 10’s in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor based on your medical condition.

Tablet 10’s is generally safe to use. However, some may experience side effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite, dizziness, and headache.

Most of these side effects of Satrogyl O Tablet 10’s do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. If these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

Do not take Tablet 10’s on your own since it may lead to antibiotic-resistance failing the antibiotics to act against specific bacterial infections. If you are allergic to Tablet 10’s or any other medicines, please tell your doctor.

Do not suddenly stop this medicine to avoid unpleasant side effects and sudden withdrawal symptoms. Intake of probiotics, prebiotics, and plenty of fluids is recommended if you suffer from dysentery and diarrhoea.
