tablet works by reducing the viral load of HIV in your body. Nelvir tablet improves your immune system and reduces the risk of conditions associated with HIV infection. Nelvir tablet is used in combination with other antivirals for efficiency.

MECHANISM OF ACTION OF NELVIR 250MG TABLET
tablet contains Nelfinavir 250mg. Nelfinavir is a Protease inhibitor. Protease inhibitors are used as a part of highly active antiviral therapy (HAART) in HIV-infected patients.
Nelfinavir prevents HIV replication by binding to this specific enzyme thus selectively inhibits the cleavage of HIV-1 encoded Gag-Pol polyproteins in cells affected by the virus, thereby preventing the formation of mature virus particles into infectious virions that spreads the infection.

HOW TO TAKE NELVIR 250MG TABLET
Nelvir (Nelfinavir (250mg)) tablet is taken orally with food at a regular time
tablet can be taken by a child as an oral powder or crush the tablet but do not divide the crushed dosage.
After therapy has been initiated, do not take more or less of Nelvir medicine than prescribed or stop taking it without your physicians’ approval. Skipping or changing the tablet dose without approval may cause the amount of the virus to increase making the infection more difficult to treat, or worsen side effects.
USE
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding inform your physician as they are not advisable.
The recommended dosage for tablet is 1250mg taken twice per day or 750mg taken twice per day

USE OF NELVIR 250MG TABLET IN CHILDREN
The use of (Nelfinavir (250mg)) tablet in less than 2 years of age is not recommended.
The recommended age is 2 to 13 years and dosage is calculated as 25-35 mg/kg given three times a day or 45-55mg/kg given two times a day
USE OF NELVIR 250MG TABLET IN ELDERLY PATIENTS
(Nelfinavir (250mg)) tablet has only been used in few patients 65 years or older. Dosage and usage are similar to adults. Discuss with your physician before usage.
OTHER GENERAL WARNINGS
- New onset diabetes mellitus or hyperglycemia – Monitor blood glucose and insulin levels. When needed add oral hypoglycemic and insulin
- Blood disorders Hemophilia, hemolytic anemia
- Skin reactions – It can be mild to severe like Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
- Musculoskeletal problems – Osteonecrosis that causes joint stiffness and pain in larger joints like shoulder, hip, and knee
- Accumulation or Redistribution of body fat or
- immune reconstitution syndrome.
- Any sign of infection – fever or lymph node enlargement
- Lactose intolerance or galactose malabsorption
