HB Set Tablet 10’s belongs to a class of medications called ‘haematinics’ primarily used to treat anaemia (deficiency of iron and haemoglobin). Its deficiency occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food or increased folate use in the body (in pregnancy).
Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells for carrying adequate oxygen required to various body tissues.
HB Set Tablet 10’s is a combination drug containing Iron and Folic acid (haematinics combination) primarily used to treat anaemia.
HB Set Tablet 10’s works by boosting the production of red blood cells (RBC) in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBC are produced in the body, so that body’s each tissue gets a sufficient supply of oxygen.
Take HB Set Tablet 10’s as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending upon your medical condition.
You may experience constipation, dry mouth, loss of appetite, bloating, diarrhoea in some cases. Most of these side effects of cap 10’s do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Do not take HB Set Tablet 10’s if you are allergic to capsule 10’s, iron, folic acid, or any of the ingredients of HB Set Tablet 10’s. Drug-Drug Interaction: HB Set Tablet 10’s is known to interact with medicines used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (penicillamine, sulfasalazine), blood cholesterol (cholestyramine), Parkinson’s disease (levodopa, carbidopa), thyroid disease (thyroxine), bone disease (bisphosphonates), certain cancers (aminopterin, methotrexate), malaria (pyrimethamine), Wilson’s disease (trientine), antibiotics (cotrimoxazole, chloramphenicol, tetracyclines).
Drug-Food Interaction: HB Set Tablet 10’s should not be taken along with alcohol, dairy products, and eggs as it might affect capsule 10’s absorption in the body.
Drug-Disease Interaction: HB Set Tablet 10’s is known to interact if you have or ever had a stomach ulcer, vitamin B12 deficiency, any blood disorder, repeated blood transfusions, ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the colon), anaemia, folate tumour.

- Eat a healthy diet, especially green leafy vegetables, and do regular physical exercise.
