CLOTRIN

CLOTRIN contains Clotrimazole and Lignocaine

Clotrin Ear Drops 10 ml belongs to a group of medications known as antifungals,  used to treat various fungal infections, such as ringworm, athlete’s foot (ringworm of the foot), diaper rash, sweat rash and vaginal thrush.

Fungal infection occurs when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin. Fungi can live in the air, soil, water, and plants. Symptoms of a fungal infection include skin rash, irritation, redness and scaling of the skin.

Clotrin Ear Drops 10 ml is composed of two medicines: Clotrimazole (antifungal) and Lidocaine (local anaesthetic). Clotrimazole is an antifungal medication it works by stops the growth of fungi by causing damage and leakage to the fungal cell membrane.

Lidocaine belongs to the class of local anaesthetics known as ‘numbing medication.’ It reduces pain by blocking the pain signals from nerves to the brain. It causes temporary numbness/loss of feeling in the skin and mucous membranes.

Clotrin Ear Drops 10 ml is available in the form of ear drops, ointment, cream, lotion, dusting powder, vaginal wash and tablet. Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose that suits your infection.

If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose, mouth or vagina, rinse with cold water. Like every medicine, Clotrin Ear Drops 10 ml also has common side effects as every drug does. These side effects include itching, dryness, redness, and burning sensation at the application site.

Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to Clotrimazole, Lidocaine or any other medications. Do not put dressing or bandage on the affected area when you apply cream/ointment/lotion unless the doctor advised you to do so.

Please check with your doctor before using Clotrin Ear Drops 10 ml, if you have severe liver disease, heart and kidney diseases, and blood disorders (methemoglobinemia, a condition in which less oxygen is delivered to the cells).

Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before starting Clotrin Ear Drops 10 ml. If nursing mothers apply Clotrin Ear Drops 10 ml to their breasts for treatment, it is advised to wash the affected area thoroughly before breastfeeding the baby.
