Alzil-M 5 Tablet 10’s is a combination drug containing a ‘neurological medicine,’ primarily used to treat Alzheimer’s disease (memory loss). Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neuro disorder that affects the brain. It causes the brain to shrink (atrophy) and brain cells (neurons) to die.

Alzil-M 5 Tablet 10’s is a combination medication containing Donepezil and Memantine, which treat Alzheimer’s disease. Donepezil is a cholinesterase inhibitor that works by preventing the breakdown of the chemical acetylcholine and improving the function of nerve cells in the brain.

Memantine works by lowering the level of the chemical in the brain, which is responsible to cause symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. Together, both of them balance the levels of chemical messengers in the brain and help transmit nerve signals.

Take Alzil-M 5 Tablet 10’s as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Alzil-M 5 Tablet 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending upon your medical condition. Preferably take it before just bedtime.

In some cases, you may experience vomiting, weight loss, loss of appetite, dryness in the mouth, dizziness, nausea, diarrhoea, headache. Most of these side effects of Alzil-M 5 Tablet 10’s do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Do not skip any doses, but if you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better and do not stop taking it suddenly.

Alzil M 5 Tablet is a combination of medicine, which is used for the treatment of moderate to severe dementia associated with Alzheimer’s disease, a condition in which the patient’s memory and ability to think, communicate, learn, and handle daily activities are impaired slowly. This medicine does not cure Alzheimer’s disease; it improves the symptoms of the disease and delays disease progression.

Are allergic to memantine hydrochloride or Donepezil any of the other ingredients of this medicine
Have any heart problems including irregular, slow or fast heartbeats
Have asthma or lung problems
Have a seizure or a history of epileptic seizures

Have difficulty in passing urine
Have liver or kidney problems
Have recently experienced a myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, uncontrolled hypertension

• Amantadine (substance used in the treatment of Parkinson?s disease)
• Dextromethorphan (substance used to treat coughs)
• Dantrolene (substance used as a muscle relaxant)

STORAGE

Dosage in patients with impaired kidney function

If you have impaired (poor) kidney function, your doctor will decide upon a dose that suits your condition. In this case, monitoring of your kidney function should be performed by your doctor at specified intervals
